Brad Guffey Motors assisted the Joplin relief effort by supplying West Plains R-7 Schools a Chevy HD pickup to haul over 1000 surplus elementary textbooks to Joplin. Brad Guffey Motors sales staff also assisted in transferring of books and helping to secure a safe trailer load for the trip. Joplin's Irving Elementary School was completely destroyed in the horrific May 22 tornado. Joplin High School, Franklin Technology Center were also destroyed. The roofs were also blown off East Middle School and Cecil Floyd Elementary.
